As the Creative Director at Supermicro since 2006, Roger has been a driving force behind the company’s global brand strategy, playing a crucial role in shaping the messaging, aesthetics, and identity of one of the tech industry’s most influential companies. Under Roger’s guidance and through his significant contributions, Supermicro’s market cap has soared from $250M to $50B over 18 years—a testament to his strategic acumen and creative prowess. Roger was instrumental in orchestrating the 3.0 Brand launch, which propelled the company into the Tier 1 Enterprise Server Solution space. His visionary leadership and hands-on approach have been pivotal in executing comprehensive branding strategies, working closely with the VP of Marketing, IR Executives, and the CEO to drive the company’s continued success. Despite his considerable impact, Roger remains humble, emphasizing his role as a contributor to the company’s growth rather than seeking sole credit for its achievements.

Roger’s journey, spanning 36 years, began as a Paste-Up artist for AlphaGraphics and evolved through roles such as Food Illustrator for iconic Bay Area brands. Each experience enriched his unique style—a harmonious fusion of urban aesthetics and timeless creative philosophy. A hallmark of Roger’s career is his unwavering commitment to mentorship. He actively nurtures the next generation of creative talent, instilling a culture of growth and empowering creative managers to transform ideas into actionable projects. His dedication to fostering creativity and leadership ensures that the future of the industry is in capable hands.

Beyond his role at Supermicro, Roger has partnered with actor/director/producer Brian Hooks, known for films like “Fools Gold” with Matthew McConaughey, “Soul Plane” with Kevin Hart, and “The Scheme” with Jimmy Fallon, to bring urban films featuring more diverse faces to streaming services. Roger is also leading an ambitious project to develop a Radio Controlled Sports Resort, which will become the largest collection of radio-controlled activities in the world, featuring cars, boats, and planes, all within a unique hotel and camping resort destination.

In addition, Roger is deeply committed to community impact through his involvement with the Alameda County Knights, a semi-pro football team. This initiative uses the sport of football to keep at-risk young men off the streets, offering them opportunities to advance to the next level, whether that be junior college, university, or arena football. Roger’s diverse ventures highlight his passion for creative innovation and social responsibility, making him a multifaceted leader both in the corporate world and beyond.

Roger’s success is deeply rooted in his humility and relentless pursuit of personal growth. He attributes his achievements to a lifelong willingness to learn and evolve, always pushing the boundaries of his creativity. His journey is a powerful testament to the impact of blending urban culture with classic creative principles, inspiring others to embrace their individuality and navigate the creative landscape with confidence and authenticity.
