Cîhan worked within the legal department of various organizations including embassy, international organization, consultancies, engineering firms, telecommunication and mobile financial services firms, respectively as Regional counsel, Senior Counsel, General Manager , Vice President and Head of Legal and Compliance.
She currently heads Airtel Money Africa Legal teams and monitors legal matters and legal compliance for the mobile financial services’ business in the 14 jurisdictions where the Group Airtel Africa plc. operates.
Cîhan acquired international exposure and experience working in France, Germany, Canada, Cameroon, South Africa, Mozambique, Kenya and UAE, Dubai where she is currently based. She works with various other Francophone (footprint in the OHADA jurisdictions), Lusophone and Anglophone African countries, over the past decade.
In her direct former roles working for a 500 fortunes company, an American company listed on NY Stock Exchange and before that for a Mauritian based company, she handled all compliance, corporate, company secretary, claim and contracts related matters. Cîhan is well versed with M&A, Litigations, Treasury, Board and Shareholder matters across various industries and territories
Cîhan holds two Master degrees from Paris University, in International and European law and Project Management with specific focus on African Countries
She also holds a diploma in international cooperation, a Master in translation and interpretation and particularly enjoys corporate governance and ethics and compliance matters
