Jan Bonath, Producer, Exec. Partner at Story Scale, a Division of White Spot Films GmbH
Jan began his career as a freelance designer in the field of visual communication and design, including as a consultant for Sony Music, where he worked on the development and production of interactive products, websites, advertising campaigns and music videos.
He entered the animation film industry with the founding of scopas Film GmbH and the animation studio clayart GmbH in 1994. Over the next 26 years, scopas developed under his leadership into scopas medien AG with offices in Frankfurt, Berlin and Hamburg, producing animated films, feature films, documentaries and television series.
During this time, Jan was not only a producer and responsible for the development, financing and production of the projects, but also for the establishment and expansion of an animation studio where most of the trades of animation production could be implemented in-house, be it through the techniques of stop-motion animation, 3D CGI animation, classic 2D animation and VFX.
