As the Data Protection Officer, Astrid is responsible for advising on data privacy & protection (DPP) laws, regulations and best practices. She handles data subject requests, review DPP clauses in all agreements and client government contracts and reviews DPP policies. She is also responsible for structuring of data controller and processor arrangements especially with new business opportunities, and for training the legal and business teams.
With 21 years of experience across diverse sectors including Banking, Technology & Internet Platform and Consulting, Astrid joined VFS Global in 2021 from Tencent where she was Senior Privacy Counsel.
A Dutch national, Astrid has a Dutch law Certificate from Erasmus University, Rotterdam, and has completed other certification programmes, including CIPP/E, CIPM at International Association Privacy Professional.
